I proudly introduce to you the Amsterdam Next City Guide App! The AMS NXT App allows you to take Amsterdam Next with you wherever you go, and can be downloaded from both the App store and on Google Play, starting TODAY!

Over the last few months I have been busy collecting and photographing over 200 different design and fashion stores, coffee corners, beautiful interiors and lunch spots in town. Some we already know and many new ones that haven't been added to the website yet but can already be found in the APP!

Getting frequently asked for the latest hotspots in town, I started writing guides and blogging about the city years ago. From a few tips by email, a page full of addresses and the Amsterdam Next website, releasing te Amsterdam City Guide App is a new step on a journey I really enjoy!

With a only a few days in town it is always hard to decide what to do and what to see, or even to remember where that one amazing store was located you visited before! And whether you’re new in Amsterdam or have been living here for years, there are always new hot-spots to discover.

Being born and having lived in Amsterdam my whole life I truly am in love with my hometown and I hope using the app you will get the most out of your visit!

The App divides the city into 17 districts, allowing you to discover as much of the city as you want in a particular day. Only here for a few days? Pick a few different city walks, and get the most out of your visit! The app will show you exactly where to find all my favourite locations, the timeless classics, as well as the hottest new concept stores, and must-see designer stores in every district, and where to grab coffee or lunch in between.

Prefer to do your shopping topic-based? The app offers a collection of highlights, based on certain themes like Concept stores, Industrial design, Dutch design, and must-see designer stores to shop for yourself, your family, and your home.

What makes this app extremely user friendly for those who are unfamiliar with the city's sometimes confusing lay-out, the app offers different city maps for every district and every store, which makes it easy to plan your route, or see exactly where you are.

Sissy Boy Christmas market on the Amstelveld | Utrechtsestraat area

The Amstelveld, located in the Utrechtse straat | Rembrandtplein area, is a quiet square dominated by a white wooden church, surrounded by trees and a view on the canal. Around the church yesterdays Sissy Boy Christmas Market was the place to search for small treasures, unique items and left over stock. Like on every real Christmas market lots of greens, wine, hot chocolate and fire pots to keep you warm.

In the Duif church on the other side of the canal, different designers and brands were represented with a small stable. In case you missed it, there will be another Sissy Boy Christmas market on December 20 in Laren. (See link here)

Ecomama | A new green and conscious boutique hostel

Some time ago I showed you Filter, a new cozy coffee corner with a raw and industrial look. Today some pictures of Boutique hostel Ecomama, located in the same building! When I visited it just opened it's doors and I got a little tour through the rooms that were being photographed at that moment.

Expect different ways of sleeping, and some really uniqued and inviting rooms for all kind of travellers.
I made some pictures in the inviting lobby and kitchen area, where you can make your own meal and enjoy the amazing space. And if you love to have breakfast and a good coffee before exploring the city, you can visit Filter!

De Pijp Area | Guide update

De Pijp is an older part of town located between Stadhouderskade - Rijksmuseum and Ceintuurbaan, easily reachable from either the Museum district or the Utrechtsestraat. The heart of de Pijp is the Albert Cuyp, a classic Dutch street market and the largest in the Netherlands. A mixture of all cultures, selling fresh produce, affordable clothing, and mainly... freshly baked Stroopwafels - syrup-filled cookies.

Around the market, on Eerste van der Helststraat and Gerard Douplein, you can find a lot of small stores as well as charming Dutch cafe’s that haven’t changed for decades... The guide ha been updated with details and new stores in this lively area downtown, more here: De Pijp

CT Coffee & Coconuts | Pijp area

I haven't had the time to go here myself yet! but Bien Schols was so kind to let me use her pictures to give you a sneak peek of this brand new spot in De Pijp Area. Just around the corner of the busy Albert Cuyp market in a former cinema built in the roaring 20s – called the Ceintuur Theater – CT coffee & coconuts  opened it's doors today.

The place looks raw and industrial and has been decorated by different creative people. Atelier Sukhapart of Sukha Amsterdam, being one of them adding a natural touch to the cafe-restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch, coffee and dinner!

MOOOI Brandstore & Showroom | Andaz hotel & Bluespoon Restaurant

Based in Amsterdam I am familiar with Moooi Brandstore & Showroom at Westerstraat 187. It is one of the places I pop in regularly during my Saturday shopping trips, and it is also one of those places where I love to wander around and get inspired for my own home.

If you are a reader of my interior Blog Vosgesparis , you might be familiar with the Blogger team I am part of and when we decided to go to Amsterdam with our team (read about us here blogger team ) I was really excited to be able to show them around in my hometown. And working together with Marcel Wanders' Moooi as one of our Blogtour sponsors was a real honour.

& Other Stories | Swedish fashion | Munt area

Yesterday & Other Stories Amsterdam opened it's doors downtown! The Swedish brand, another daughter of H&M is a beautiful addition to the small Heiligweg street where other cool brands such as Diesel, Scotch & Soda and lately also All Saints are located.

The two floor store has the same 'Scandinavian' look and feel as the shops I visited in Stockholm and Copenhagen. Tiles, squared paper & objects under glass, marble, blond wood and lots of plants. & Other stories collection is build around inspiring fashion stories, their lines are from masculine tailoring to feminine chic and designed to create your own story.

Pistache Studio & Pizzeria.

Pistache is a Studio and Wood stove Pizzeria in the heart of Amsterdam and one day walking around with my camera to make pictures for Amsterdam Next, I found the doors of Studio Pistache open and just walked in.... can you imagine I fall in love with the place?

The Pizzeria makes delicious pizza's and the adjacent Studio is one of the most amazing spaces I know. I recently had a private dinner with a group of Interior design bloggers there and I truly loved the place.
