Vegan & Vegetarian takeaway | CLOSED

It is not that I have started to write about coffee and Vegetarian food & takeaway's suddenly. But I happen to love both and with opening a vegetarian butcher in my own neighborhood I thought I should check out the opening party of the Vegetarische slager The Vegetarian Butcher produces vegetarian meat from soybean and lupin that is sold world wide and can also be found in a number of supermarkets.

Options {Today in Amsterdam}

It is certainly beautiful at Options-Amsterdam with its ever changing themes and beautiful items. I have made it a  habit to pop in now and then to see what is happening ... And this last week I loved the beautiful new HAY items and the prints from Petra Lunenburg.

Please note: Options is now closed but Hotel Exchange and cafe Stock are still open
 

Options goes Africa {Today in Amsterdam}

What I like a lot about Options! Amsterdam is the great variety of themes they run in their concept store. From May 3 till May 24 it's all African Options!

With support from Aid to Artisans, an international non-profit organization that uses craft to spur economic development, Feeling Africa was started in 2003 by Willard Musarurwa, a gifted crafter from Zimbabwe.

Based in Cape Town, Feeling African now employs six full time wire- workers and produces funky and colourful wire furniture that has been nationally acclaimed and featured in national and international lifestyle magazines such as Elle Décor.



The products are entirely crafted by hand by the team of local artisans, and galvanised prior to being powder-coated, making them durable, weather-resistant and 100% original!
Furniture ranges from side tables, coffee tables, stools and (fruit)bowls. Feeling African also creates custom made pieces.

Today in Amsterdam: VT Wonen Magaglogue

We know VT Wonen for their great magazine and you might remember the posts I made after visiting the woonbeurs where VT Wonen and other Dutch interior magazines each year build a home totally inspired by the style of their magazine. VT wonen also has a great range of products you can buy in several Dutch shops and webshops! To introduce the latest collection there is a magalogue (a catalog and a magazine in one) coming with the latest VT Wonen magazine

To photograph the magalogue the VT Wonen team furnished two complete apartments that are up for sale (De witte kaap) One for a family with kids that you see here in this post and one for a working couple. Today the apartments were open to the public and Paulina and I visited one of them today and made some pictures.

Today at Pols Potten

During my grocery shopping for the weekend, I popped into Pols Potten. It's such an amazing store to wander around and I love the view on the harbor you have in the back of the store.

We Dutch have this word 'Gezellig' It means something like Coziness... 

It is a feeling you get when having a meal with family and friends. Or when in winter you put on the heather, light the candles and curl on the couch with lost of cushions and a cup of tea.  


I really thought this pile of handmade XXL Cushions from Nepal... that by the way are called NEST ! Totally explained the word Gezellig.

Today at RAW | Amsterdam unplugged

I have been looking for a while at this corner.. today at RAW Materials in Amsterdam.. Thinking how beautiful old floorboards, a raw wall, some simple furniture like two old Indian market tables. Metal open cabinets. Italian ceramic in neutral tones like soft whites, blues and grays and some lost linen napkins......  can create such an amazing decor. Happy weekend to you all!

Today at Pols Potten concept store | Amsterdam unplugged

When reading the English text on the Pols Potten website I had to look up the word Idiosyncratic..  Reading the Dutch definitions in my online dictionary I finally understood why maybe it is I feel so at home in this shop. I pop in very often, to drool over Paola Navona's couches, see that one lamp I love once more.... I just really like to walk around in this beautiful.. sometimes strange and yet so familiar world.. And it inspires me every time.



What you see at Pols Potten is the result of their dedication to artists, designers and producers. They supervise the design process as well as production and have a collection that is constantly updated. About their presentation they write on their website…
