de pijp

Going in the direction of Albert Cuyp market - {De Pijp area}
At the end of de Utrechtse straat you are near the Albert cuyp....Just walk into van Woustraat and you will find
Hollands largest daytime market on your right hand. All kind of things to be found here and food from all over the world on the stalls and in the orietal food shops behind them. The market is typical dutch,with its fresh baken Stroopwafels (a tipical Dutch cookie) and feels very multicultural at the same time.

Most sellers have shops located behind their stalls. Look here for fabrics. The market ends at Ferdinand bolstraat, where nearby you can find my favorite kitchen shops from Duikelman, amazing stores if you're into cooking as they sell almost everything you can think of.

Parallel to
the albert Cuyp straat is Gerard Doustraat... with interior shop Zublim and the fair concept store of Charlie+Mary. They have a cute little tea corner at the back of the store too. If you are into colour you can find a big store of Blond Amsterdam and the also colourfull Children party shop in Gerard Doustraat too.

Food in this area..
There are a few Indian restaurants at Utrechtsestraat. Specialist fish or meat restaurant at Sluizer Utrechtsestraat 45 and lots of other cozy restaurants.For coffee try out  De Koffie Salon at Utrechtse straat 130 ... The Dutch word for coffee is koffie and not every coffee shop is the shop where you get the expected espresso's. On Utrechtsestraat there are quite some sunny spots on the corners of the street with a view on the canals as well. They serve an international menu and the usual coffe and mint tea. The whole Pijp area around this market is filled with little bars and restaurants from spain to those with an Middle Eastern twist.
